There are two different blades in this class presently, first or own recipe, a hand forged then folded .65% carbon steel mix. Differentially hardened with a classic true Japanese clay resist process. They are tempered to be durable and have flexibility. The high-grade sword in this class is our proprietary .75% folded mix. It has the same hardening process, visible hamon and lovely gane in the hada. Both swords have a high grade mirror polish for training, The handles are made to a strict specifications for comfort, classic line, and durability. Sohei class swords are perfect for the higher level student, or instructor who wants to demonstrate clean tamashigiri and serious training technique.
